Les gisements gaziers et pétroliers que partagent le Sénégal et la Mauritanie ne devraient pas être une malédiction pour les deux pays.
D’une importance capitale, les deux présidents ont instruit les ministres en charge des secteurs de travailler en synergie pour coordonner les actions. Et l’exploitation est proche a annoncé SEM Cheikhna Ould Nenni, Ambassadeur sortant de la République Islamique de Mauritanie au Sénégal.
« Le 3 Août, il y aura la signature d’un accord tripartite entre Sénégal, la Mauritanie et British Petroleum. Un accord pour la sécurisation des installations, les choses avancent, des manœuvres en cours dans les états-majors des deux pays. Un projet qui sera bénéfique, on va tout faire pour que cette exploitation soit bénéfique », a-t-il promis.
Il animait un point de presse à l’issue de ses adieux au Chef de l’État Macky Sall, après cinq ans et demi de mission. L’ambassadeur mauritanien a été décoré Commandeur dans l’ordre national du Lion.
